a. Diary of a Teenage Girl
b. The Christy Miller series
d. Left Behind – The Kids
10. How many pages does GGFG have TOTAL?
(see question 8) Hillary-Beth and Holland’s mother helped them laboriously produce a hard-copy magazine. The cost was a mere $1 for something that could have been selling for $10, but no one was buying. Websites were the fashion; so Hillary-Beth didn’t want to give up. She investigated yahoo sites and such. Nothing looked good.
Christina knew about sites, though! Soon Christina and Kimberly had a free site running. It just goes on from there…Kim and Hillary-Beth may have gotten a little page-crazy…lol!After one print edition that wouldn’t sell, GGFG decided to go online. Hillary-Beth was clueless, but Christina and Kimberly knew the ropes J That just shows, God gifts us differently for a reason! It is beautiful when we work together for His glory, and what we do thrives when we commit it to Him!
Although there was at least on other contributing author, these girls were the ones who were listed and four stayed with GGFG at least a year and a half. God seemed to have put girls with all different backgrounds, experiences, and stories together to show a little more of the Big Story – Jesus as our Savior – through our struggles and work in His Name.
We’ve experimented a little over the past couple years, but it’s been purple and pink, and they’re here to stay with our brand new site coming out *hopes* on April 1st! Purple is for royalty, because we are here to serve our King, and pink is an all-around girl color in our culture, which represents our main audience.
We want to put God first and leading girls to Him very next! We want to support girls in their walk with Christ. Yes it’s a cool place to hang out sometimes :P Not that the other mottos listed aren’t a good part, they just don’t seem to cover the whole spirit of GGFG to us. We’ve never altered the motto!
Somewhere in cyberspace, there’s another GGFG site with a bunch of old stuff on it. OOoops, we forgot the password…
Hillary-Beth loves Testimonies next best, but Hard Q’s capture her heart as she believes it’s questions like these that are most real-to-life and least dealt with. She loves questions – maybe because she asks so many; if you’ve ever worked with her, you know she loves a long email, sent or received! She especially loved the back page of a certain magazine (see question 8), but wondered how they could answer the girls’ questions with less and less moral stance. She then started to rewrite answers in her head of what she would say, and what verses she would write to the girls who had these problems that were affecting their lives and hindering them from being all God designed them to be.
Kimberly was the best graphic designer GGFG has ever known and probably will ever know! Many of the graphics and themes have been carried through. No one was more talented in so many areas – she was a writer, a manager, a correspondent, and of course made GGFG visually awesome.
One day, Hillary-Beth got tired of American Girl reflecting worldly values at every page. She’d always wanted a club to belong to that she could embrace wholeheartedly. (See question 6) So one night at Awana she asked her friend Christina to join her in making a magazine. Christina agreed, and soon Kimberly and sometimes Holland joined in. One meeting included Oksana and Jessica, and … see question 1!
Just when the girls who encouraged needed a little encouragement and inspiration, God sent these writers a little something to read. This was most amazing to Hillary-Beth, though she was the last to catch on. She was overjoyed and gained courage and assurance of what she was doing when the characters in the book had a similar story to GGFG’s J
Like I said, we got a little page crazy. But it makes for one guarantee; you can’t explore our whole site in just an hour!

The Flat-Out Liar
Lying is an easy trap to fall into. One lie leads to two, then three, and so on. It seems so simple to lie instead of getting into trouble, isn’t it? Lying can become a habit very quickly, and is a hard one to break. But you will feel so much better knowing that you were honest. Still think lies aren’t that big of a deal? Read these:
Bible Verses About Lies
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
The Truthful Teller
Great! God really appreciates you being honest. Keep up the good work. Even if you are truthful, be sure to still read the verses about lies. They can help you the next time you are tempted!

Do You Spend Enough Time With God?

If you do set aside a time, do you enjoy it?

C: I don’t like doing it. I find the Bible hard to understand, or just boring at times.

Wow, you spend a lot of time with God! He appreciates it. Keep it up!!
You spend some time with God. Sometimes you think you are too busy to do so, but remember, God is much more important than watching TV or instant-messaging friends!
Your relationship with your Savior is not how it should be. God wants you to spend time with Him! You may not think it’s all that important, but really, it is. It doesn’t have to take up your whole day. Simply set aside about 20-30 minutes a day to talk with God, and to read what the Bible has to say. If you simply don't have that much time, (you have to study for a test, do chores, or do homework), then shrink the time to 10-15 minutes. But no shorter than that!
If you think sometimes that reading the Bible is dull, try this: Ask God to show you what important message He wants you to see. You’ll be surprised to see all the things that will interest you!

A) You split it with her, so both of you can enjoy it. You love to make your siblings happy.
B) Give her a couple of pieces, but no more than that.
C) Say, “No way! I love this candy. Besides, you don’t want to get another cavity!”
You’re at Disney World with your family! When getting onto a ride, you want to be first so you can get the best seat. But both you and your dad LOVE to sit in the front. You…

Your friend Michelle has been working really hard to practice her lines for a play she’s going to be in. She asks you the day before the play if you can come over and help her with the lines. But that day, you planned to go to a new movie you’ve really been wanting to see. And it’s the last day the movie is in the theater. You:
A) Willingly go help her with her lines. You can always rent the movie once it’s on DVD.
B) Help her, but the whole time while doing it you think to yourself that you wish you were at the movie theater.
C) Tell her you’re sorry, but that you have other plans that day. She can always ask a different friend or a sibling to help, right?
You’re unselfish! You strive to please others and give what you have to others when they need it, whether it’s your time or your belongings. Keep up the good work.
You are a little selfish. You give others your things, but do it with a reluctance. Remember, pleasing others is more rewarding than pleasing yourself!
You are selfish. You don’t like giving your things to others, and think about yourself more than others. It’s true, it’s hard sometimes. But things like candy, earrings, an hour or two of your time…is it really worth it to selfish about them? Let’s take a look at what the Bible has to say:
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
In other words, things we own aren’t important. It’s the “treasures” (Nice things we do for others) that matter to God. You’ll feel much better knowing you did the right thing, than to feel guilty and selfish!
